Today is the December 1st,one of the important dates in the history of West Papua.It is on this day in 1961 when West Papua got Its independence from their Dutch colonialists.However,the honeymoon was cut short when they were recolonised by the Indonesian military government.Since then they have been under the racist and colonial Indonesian government.The Indonesians are known to be brutal.Least we forget they murdered thousands and thousands in East Timor.And it is estimated that since their illegal occupation of West Papua they have killed and raped more than 500 000 West Papuans.Today I stand solidarity with my brothers and sisters in West Papua and I join them to raise their independence flag popularly known as the Morning Star Flag.In case you were not aware if you dare to raise this flag in the occupied West Papua you serve a prison sentence of 15 years.
